I’m an adventurous home baker with a love of everything related to food, but mainly pastries, cakes and all things sweet. Having followed other people’s food blogs for many years, I’ve decided it's about time I started my own.
If I won the lottery, my dream would be to complete the patisserie diploma at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, but as I don’t necessarily want to work as a pastry chef I can’t really justify the astronomical course fees (currently around £15,000!).
Pipelette (pronounced peep-uh-let) means chatterbox in French, and as I love all kinds of French patisserie and spend far too much time chatting about my latest baking projects, this seemed like the perfect name for my blog.
When I’m not baking (or talking about baking) I work as a PA in London, and spend my free time either at the gym (working off the cake calories) or completing various crafty projects like knitting Christmas stockings, making bridesmaids dresses for friend’s weddings etc.

Instead, I’m going to attempt to teach myself how to make all different kinds of patisserie, cakes and breads in my own tiny kitchen on the outskirts of London, and I think it may turn out to be even more enjoyable that way.
The blog focuses on a different baking theme each month, as I find it a better way to learn and (attempt to) perfect the techniques. Here's the plan for 2013:

Thank you! I'm excited about cake decorating month too! Although I'm not quite sure how I'm going to fit the whole subject of cake decorating into one month. I expect there will be lots of things I can bring to the office for you to taste test though! x x
