I’ve been inspired by the many wonderful food blogs on the web and have decided it’s time to stop reading and start writing my own.
I love finding new baking techniques and practising until I get them right. In the case of macarons, I’ve spent far more time, money and effort than I care to remember, but the satisfaction of finally succeeding makes it all worthwhile.
If I won the lottery, my dream would be to complete the patisserie diploma at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, but as I don’t necessarily want to work as a pastry chef I can’t really justify the astronomical course fees (currently around £15,000!).
Instead, I’m going to attempt to teach myself how to make all different kinds of patisserie, cakes and breads in my own tiny kitchen on the outskirts of London, and I think it may turn out to be even more enjoyable that way.
