My resolution for 2013 is to get more stuff done. Although this sounds a rather vague goal, I have come up with a plan to put it into practice on my blog.
Instead of my previous approach of writing about whatever project I fancied tackling that weekend, I’m going to work my way through a new technique each month. This will make it easier to learn from my mistakes and put what I’m learning into practice as I go along.
So here is my plan for the rest of the year:
January: puff pastry
February: puddings
March: chocolate
April: choux pastry
May: bread
June: meringue
July: shortcrust pastry
August: desserts
September: enriched bread dough
October: cakes
November: cake decorating
December: biscuits and cookies
This focused way of working suits me much better and will make me more creative in my choices of what to bake, as I will only be able to fit in a limited number each month.
I’m already feeling inspired and I’ve been busy deciding on all the different things I’ll be making in January (henceforth to be known as Puff Pastry Month). My first batch of dough is resting in the fridge as I type.
Wishing you all a happy and productive 2013!
Kate
